FAQ
- Q:   Why do I need to hire an RV inspector?
- A:   Spending tens to hundreds of thousands of your hard earned dollar, wouldn't you feel more at ease knowing you hired a professional to inspect the rv before buying?
- Q:   I'm buying a brand new RV with warranty, Why do I need to hire you?
- A: Brand new RV's have issues like used RV's have. Imagine buying a brand new RV and taking it 50-100 miles to a camp site and paying $30 a day. After hooking it up, you notice you have a leak issue, you call the dealer and they tell you to bring it in to have it fixed. Now you have to unhook and drive it all the way back to the dealer to have the issue fixed. You lost time, miles and camp site money.
- Q:   So are you saying that if I hire an RV inspector, and your report says RV has no major issues, there are none?
- A:   I wish I could say yes, but unfortunately that is not the case. We can only see so much without tearing down walls or dismantling engines and appliance. But we are trained to find and notice things that are accessible.
- Q:   So what sort of equipment and testing do you do?
- A:   There are to many equipments that we use. Here is a small list of the major equipment that we may use.
- Multi-Meter
- Thermal Camera
- Moisture Reader
- Manometer
- 7-way Circuit Tester
- DOT System Tester
- many many more
- Q:   How much does the inspection cost?
- A:   Unfortunately I cannot give you an exact price because it would depend on what type of RV, where its located from me, what level of inspection you would like done on it.
Once you contact us for an exact quote, after getting some detailed information from you, you will know exactly what the cost will be before any action is taken. Once you agree and sign the contract and payment is made in full, the actual inspection can begin.
- Q:   How far will you travel to inspect an RV?
- A:   First 100 miles round trip is free. after that I charge $0.50 per mile plus travel expenses. Example say you wanted an RV inspected and its 75 miles away from my location. So round trip its 150 miles. The first 100 miles is free leaving 50 miles at $0.50 per mile for a total extra cost of $25. If the trip is longer and requires me to stay overnight, all travel accommodations are extra. But rest assured you will be notified of the total cost of the inspection, before anything begins. Once the quoted price is paid, thats all you pay, nothing more.
- Q:   Will you take the motorized RV out for a test drive?
- A:   Due to insurance reason, we cannot drive the RV. We can turn on the engine to see how it sounds, and take fluid samples (if the owner approves and you add that to the inspection).
- Q:   Are all RV inspectors the same?
- A:   No. As an NRVIA member, we have the same standards and code we must adhere to. There are different levels of NRVIA inspectors. Level 2, is the hightest level in the NRVIA.
Make sure you compare other inspectors points of inspections to ours.
- Q:   If I contact you, will I be receiving unwanted emails and phone calls from you?
- A:   NO!     Unless you permit me to, after our initial phone/email/messages, We will only contact once more if we sent you information, to ensure you received it and understand it, after that we'll wait for you call.
So feel free to contact me without the fear of feeling pressured. I just want to answer any questions you have about RV inspection.
